The Signs That Found Me: A Personal Story of Trusting the Universe
Have you ever felt like the Universe was sending you a sign?
Someone once asked me, “What do you believe in?”
The question caught me by surprise. I didn’t really know what to say, maybe because it wasn’t something I had ever thought about deeply. But after that moment, something inside me shifted. I started to reflect more. To ask myself quietly: What do I believe in?
Over time, I think I’ve found my answer.
I believe in something bigger than us. A higher energy, the Universe. I believe that things happen for a reason, and that if you truly believe in something and put your energy into it, what’s meant for you will find its way.
And I believe in signs. The soft nudges, the moments that feel too meaningful to be random.
The night the stars spoke back
One moment I’ll always carry with me happened on a quiet night in Thailand. I was living in the middle of nowhere, lucky to have the clearest view of the night sky. One evening, two close friends and I decided to try our luck at stargazing. We set out some mats on the ground and laid there, just watching the stars.
At first, nothing happened. The sky stayed still. So we thought, Why not try to manifest it? We decided to call it in. Together, we shouted, “One, two, three - shooting star!”
The first time, I stayed silent, teasing my friends a little. But the second time, when we all called out together, something incredible happened. A huge, bright shooting star crossed the sky right before our eyes. It felt magical, as if the universe had heard us. There was such a deep energy around us in that moment, like the night sky itself was answering.
Signs on the path home
As the years passed, and my chapter working with elephants in Thailand came to an end, I began the slow journey back home. And during that time, I started seeing 11:11 everywhere - on clocks, receipts, random places.
A friend suggested we check what my angel number might be. It turned out to be 111 - a number linked to new beginnings, spiritual alignment, and trust. To me, it felt like a gentle tap on the shoulder from the Universe. A reminder to keep going, to trust myself, and to believe that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
One afternoon, I came across a small market where they were selling handmade bracelets. One of them caught my eye right away. It had an elephant, a turtle, and an angel wing.
These are symbols close to my heart. The elephant reminded me of the strength and compassion I had learned from working with these gentle giants. The turtle spoke of patience, of slowing down, of finding resilience in going at my own pace. And the angel wing, it felt like a sign of protection, guidance, and support.
It felt like more than just jewelry. It felt like a message.
Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit lost, questioning my path. But moments like these bring me comfort. They remind me that the path doesn’t always have to be clear. Sometimes it’s enough to trust the quiet whispers and keep walking forward.
The Universe speaks in its own way, through moments that seem too perfect to be coincidence. Whatever the sign may be, trust that it’s there for a reason. Slow down, listen closely, and let it guide you toward the place that feels like home.
These days, I try to welcome signs by making space for them. I walk in nature and let myself simply notice - the shape of the clouds, the sound of the wind, the way light falls through the trees. I write in my journal, not always knowing what will come out, but letting my thoughts and feelings have a place. And I try to create small moments of stillness, even just a few deep breaths, where I can listen inward and reconnect.
The signs are always there. I think it’s in the slowing down that we start to see them.
If you’ve found your way here, maybe you too are listening for something. I hope this reminds you to trust the small signs that find you.
Pause, breathe, and notice what’s already around you. The Universe has a beautiful way of speaking, we just have to be willing to listen.
What signs have found their way to you lately?
